Welcome to Aunt Jude's Treasures! Thank you for visiting. Pull up your coziest chair, relax with
a cup of your favorite tea, and take a little time to peek at some of my past creations for new and
vintage dolls. Everything I make is hand-crafted with love, skill and attention to all the little details.
Before you explore my site, I want to tell you about a very special project that was the dream of
a precious child who was taken from us far too soon. Rachel Beckwith of Bellevue, Washington
celebrated her 9th birthday on June 12, 2011. Rachel was a little girl, but she sure had a big idea
for this occasion -- she asked for NO party, NO gifts, only donations to provide clean drinking
water for people in developing countries around the world who do not have any.
Rachel's Charity Water Birthday Campaign initially generated $220 of her $300 goal. Then, only days
later, tragedy struck. There was a terrible traffic accident on the Interstate, and the car in which
little Rachel was riding was crushed by an 18-wheeler. Rachel was critically injured and would not
be able to get better. On Saturday, July 23, 2011, Rachel went to Heaven, where she is fulfilling her
role as one of God's most special Angels.
Yet, Rachel's Charity Water Birthday Campaign continues. I am certain that she is looking down on
all of us, smiling as sees her Campaign take hold and grow far beyond what she had envisioned. This
beautiful child has touched people all over the world, and in her too short time here, is teaching us
more about the real meaning of "love" and "charity" than most of us learn in an entire lifetime.
A child has shown that each of us holds the potential to change the world in tangible and important ways.
All we need do is take that first step.
